Can't decide between Lake Placid Blue and Surf Green? Aqua Marine Metallic is your match! This color isn't one you see everyday, with a nice metallic flake that changes a bit with light. This 2001 American Series plays and sounds as good as it looks - with a speedy C neck and sparkly, stratty pickups.
Many people prefer these older models to the newer Professional series, sporting the "Made in USA" logo missing on newer Fenders. This one feels quite nice - with an awesome neck profile. It features all of the typical modern Fender specs; 9.5" radius rosewood fretboard with 22 frets, alder body, sealed Fender tuners, and 2 point fulcrum trem. These older models come factory with nice solid saddles, which add a bit of mass and eliminate rattle sometimes associated with the bent steel style.
It is in good cosmetic shape, with some miscellaneous signs of use being 23 years old; the most apparent of which is a paint chip above the jack plate. There are a few other small dings that don’t really jump out at you, and a bit of discoloration on the inside of the upper horn. The frets show some wear, however the guitar plays and sounds as it should, with no fretout issues. Overall the guitar looks nice sitting on the stand, and is a real joy to play.
It has been polished and setup with a fresh set of D'Addario 9-42s yielding a very playable string height of around .060" at the 12th fret. The frets have been polished and the fretboard oiled. This slick workhorse is all set to go!
