A rare and classic American Made Peavey! Don’t let its Bandit-esq looks fool you, this one is a real-deal 120 watt tube amp; complete with its 4 original US made Sylvania 6L6s in the power section, and an array of 12AX7s in the preamp. These amps were supposed to be the “Mesa. Boogie” of the 80s Peavey lineup, and it does deliver in that respect. The gain channel is quite similar to that in the respected VTM, and certainly sounds alike. The speaker is beefy, being the original souped up Scorpion with a gigantic magnet. The 3 channels sound fantastic, with tons of gain on tap in the Ultra channel- it also has an impressive clean channel that is punchy and musical with plenty of headroom (think Fender Twin); while the crunch channel is pure southern rock. An Accutronics spring reverb tank is the chef’s kiss, completing the package as an amp that can truly do it all.

It has received a couple of common mods that really open these amps up; with the EQ linked across then channels for better control on the gain channel, and the clipping diodes have been bypassed to eliminate the weird note trail off that they tend to cause. All in all, this one really sounds great!

Parts wise it is all original, and in good cosmetic shape with only one small rip in the tolex (under the grille) - however it presents quite nicely. The original foot switch is not present, but a 6 pin DIN Randall 4 button switch is included as well as a cable - this functions to switch between all 3 channels, however it does not work with the Reverb (the Reverb does work with the foot switch disconnected).

Don’t miss out on this special 80’s classic!
